ABOUT MT - TLA (owner, artist)
Moaula is a name of the guardian of my father’s village in Sāmoa. The village of Matautu-tai.
My dad is an artist. He’s a painter, a carver, and a tattooist, so I was always surrounded by art growing up. He showed me the basics on carving in 2014 and I made my first 21st key in 2020.
Growing up, he would have t-shirts printed with "Moaula13," a small reference to a home he left at 16.
Our parents immigrate to new countries seeking a better life and greater opportunities. Many of them possess talents and dreams they never had the chance to pursue, simply because they were not given the resources, support, or time to develop those skills.
Moaula Tribe continues the artistic talent I developed while growing up surrounded by my dad’s art.
